Katrin sources and conducts diligence on private, impact-first investment opportunities that bridge an impact gap unable to be created by market rate investments nor philanthropy. These investments span asset classes, geographies, and sectors, including clean energy & resource efficiency, conservation, and financial inclusion. Katrin also leads philanthropy strategy, sourcing, and diligence for clients passionate about climate justice, racial justice, and girls’ education.

Prior to joining Align in 2021, she was an analyst at Carbon America, a carbon capture and sequestration project developer, where she identified policy-based value streams for company projects and tracked market developments in the voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Additionally, Katrin has worked twice as an intern with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance. During her time with the Institute, she co-authored a policy paper on elections during democratic transitions and lived in La Paz, Bolivia, where she worked to empower youth and female political voices preceding the country’s 2019 national elections.

Katrin has a BA in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University.
